This Is amazing in an album.

I absolutely love this album! Whenever I listen to it I am happy and it makes me extremely energetic. My four favorite songs are Horchata, Holiday, Cousins, and Giving Up the Gun. This has to be one of all time favorite albums that is sitting in my iTunes library as of now. Keep up the good work Vampire Weekend! P.S. I can usually write my college papers two times faster when I listen to this album. ;D It's that good.

Horchata is a great open to the album. A little funky at times(CALIFORNIA ENGLISH), but overall great album

This is music. Not ultra flamboyant and flashy. Not killing the bass, or chock full of undecipherable lyrics. The album is full of colorful yet simplistic songs, each one just as good as the other. Buy the whole album; I can guarantee you, iTunes store browser, that you will not be dissapointed.

Go ahead, don't be afraid. Even though you may want her to, the girl on the cover doesn't bite, and neither does the record. A great album and looking for more.

This is a great improvement from the exceptional debut album. It has a great atmosphere and musical style. Vampire Weekend is the F Scott Fitzgerald of the music industry. Standout tracks are taxi cab, run, giving up the gun, and diplomat's son, but all the songs are great.

I'm not quite sure about these guys, but they definitely have a cool sound.

Take yo favorite album and legit times it by 69 and your lookin at contra. Its seriously a masterpiece. Sometimes I don't even think humans made it, its that good, kids. Like i never had drank horchata before this i heard this album because I dont drink, but i made some and it was so good. That made me like Contra even more. I even stayed up until midnight on November 30th so I could be the first one of the year to be "in decembah drinkin horchata". Legit I think i'm its biggest fan ever made. I think was born to listen to Contra and then just die like forreal its the best thing out there the rest of my life is going to be a let down.

First album is MUCH BETTER! Although this one is pretty good! Amazing live! But I hate how popular they are getting.. Especially holiday! WTF? Stupid commercials..

This album does not have the zing of a standout song that their first album did, but I think it might be more solid all the way through.

First off,as some ppl are saying,there's is a lot of similarity between their first album and this one,but this one just seems to be a little more fine tuned in my opinion ;) Then there is a lot of ppl who are talking about how they "stole" Paul Simon's song Proof.While I do hear the similarities,I would't say they "STOLE" it.Besides that's MUSIC,hello!That's what artist do,they always have influences,and ppl they are influenced by,duh!And if your REALLY a REAL music scholar,then you would know that Paul Simon CANNOT be credited for that style of music,but AFRICAN artist.If you don't believe me check out Pombi by Bhundu Boys,Or the Beat of Soweto (CD),or a Johnny Clegg CD. :)

Vampire Weekend rocks!!!! Love all the songs, but thanks to iTunes I cannot listen to all 11 tracks. I purchased the whole album but only 7 songs are on my iPhone. WTF!!!! I want my 4 songs iTunes!!!!!!!!

This is album is great. This is better then the first album! Don't just buy a song, buy the whole CD!!!

All of the tracks are in 4/4 time at around 150 beats per minute, so it keeps moving, but there's not really much going on. There are a lot of little quirky drum loops, and they're cool for a second but the novelty wears off quick. The singer is doing his best Paul Simon impression, go back and listen to Paul Simon from the late 70's and 80's it's like this but with better lyrics.

Like their first album, Contra will keep you entertained and happy. Contra is not too different from Vampire Weekend but it is better in my opinion. If you like good, happy alternative that trys to stay original you will like vampire weekend.

This is quite possibly the best album i have ever heard in my entire life (aside from their first album). Every song offers something new, a new perspective on something. In fact, the first and seond time i heard "I Think UR a Contra" i cried, i was so touched. Keep up the good work, and come to Chicago sometime Vampire Weekend!

I love alllll of the songs on contra except maybe taxi cab.... But the rest are just amazing :) just buy the whole album :) :) :)

I hate how "Holiday" is being used in every third Christmas commercial this season. It's not even about Christmas.

This has a very summery, upbeat feel: I was driving along the coast and it was absolutely perfect as a soundtrack. A lot of the individual tracks I like (the first, Horchata, is especially catchy), but for me the real appeal is how well the album works as a whole.

I got the song holiday because i saw it on a commercial and I loved it! I also like diplomats son but I don't know If I like it enough to buy it. All the other songs... Ehh. If all of their songs were fast and catchy like holiday, I would have bought the whole album!

This album is such a very relaxing and fun album from 2010. I absolutely love it. A must buy album!

Omg! I love vampire weekend I saw them in concert! They are so amazing I soo wish I could have front row!! Even though I was in the back, at the concert, it was a great feeling knowing they were like yards away from me :) Ahhhh!!

When I listen to Vampire Weekend, I hear a true artist. Vampire Weekend knows what they are and how to use what they know to make something amazing. Contra defied all my expectations, to be what I think to be the best album of the year. My personal favorites are California English, Cousins, and Diplomat's Son. Just buy it now!

Even tho the lyrics don't make much sense as a whole, the song is the best I have on my iPhone. The rhythm of the song is the best part, I love it.

I don't know how anyone can listen to this crap. They play Peruvian wind flute rock. I would rather listen to the guy who only plays the flute (with some occasional chimes for ambiance) on the street than these guys.

Vampire weekend is one of the best indie rock bands out there with energy in the genre not seen since 2004 however this album seems to have a problem many indie rock bands have which is falling into indie pop which a problem it's just it doesnt have the same appeal it did as rock has a very didn't taste the pop music. Overall great band, great music just the first album much better
