9 / 10 : Atlantic Records got too much say in this one. Some parts are too mainstream for my liking, and sadly Lupe had no choice. The lyrics in Never Forget You are unfrogettable and very relatable, much praise for him. Words I Never Said is a great political rant that brings up many valid points. The chorus expresses regret over having not spoken up before it was too late, emphasizing the time is now to speak for yourself, for the people. The best songs are Never Forget You (feat. John Legend), Words I Never Said (feat. Skylar Grey), & All Black Everything.

this would be good for just about anyone besides lupe fiasco. just doesnt compare to food and liquor and the cool. good album just not up to the standards a lupe fiasco album should be

"out of my head" is my favorite out of all....

Hundreds of years from now, when someone decides to open up the music time capsule of 2011, they will hear The Show Goes On. I'm not crazy for the entire album, but The Show Goes On is one of the best songs of our time. Even my dad, who refuses to listen to anything besides classic rock, likes this song.

Lupe is the best in the world

This album is absolutely amazing. I first heard of this band from the song "The Show Goes On". I thought it was good, but nothing amazing. So then I looked at this album, and I'm just handing out cash, buying these songs. He is a great rapper, and has many great songs. BUY THIS!

now let me start off by saying this is NOT what i expected. this is total radio pop rap, with lupes amazing lyrics. ive heard people say the pop production makes it bad, i think it just brings the lyrics to a different audience, and this is an album that before listening, you need to put your commercial hat on

Food & Liquor and The Cool were so sick. This is a bunch of mainstream butt. I hope his next album is like his old ones

so about a year or so ago, during a wrestling practice, michigan state champ isaac jewell was playing the show goes on. i died about 7.5983 times inside during every verse the first time i heard it. he played it every practice cuz i asked him to. i loved the song. then when i got some itunes money, the first thing i bout was the show goes on. i then decided, that the whole album must be good too, and randomly selected a song. that song was words i never said. i fell in love with the meaning and feel of that song as well. the other day, i went back and bought the whole album. i cursed my self out for this stupidity, and asked why i didnt do this a year ago when i heard the first two? so now i happily listen to lasers on shuffle and thats pretty much all i listen to. out of five stars? approx. 99999999999. enjoy

Awesome album great =))))) but who's sELF?

Funny Lupe wrote a song entitled "Dumb it Down", it dealt with basically commercializing one's music. The gripe of the song was, going commerical meant destroying all meaning behind your music. Now we have Lasers. All people seem to do is makes excuses for Lupe, he didn't wan't to make the album his band waggoners say. So, it makes you wonder why he'll gladly parade these monstoursly cheesy tracks every chance he gets. Lupe dumped ity down, he needs to admitt it, rather than being a hypocrite.

This album got me through a 2 1/2 week vacation with my annoying family!!! I had lost my ipod then found it and realized it had been deleted but bought it again because its so amazing!! :)

I know this isnt Lupes best work but every good rapper has to have that slack where they pump up bass and blast it. Lupe was more abt the message and less abt the jam in his past albums... But this one is softer on the message and more abt the jam and honestly, i loved it. Now the 3 albums are mixed up in my playlist and its nice and unique like a little of that and a little of this. Good job Keep it up Lupe

If you don't look at the lyrics the beat is great! The flow goes hard. However just factually he is massively uninformed. Don't listen for this if you're in it for the deep lyrics. Maybe with his profits he can take a couple of political science and international relations classes....

Another great album by the one and only Lupe Fiasco. The beats is what messed up the whole album. If you just listen to what he saying it's tha same old Lupe just mainstream beats. He still that dude and if your a true Lupe fan first you should know good and well he would never drop beats like that and second its still the best album dropped this year because Lupe is talking.

Words I Never Said is seriously SUCH a great song. And idc if it sounds commercial, the lyrics are still amazing and I love all the songs. BEST HIP-HOP/RAP ALBUM OF 2011!

The Show Goes on tonight = We'll all float on alright by Modest Mouse. And some of the other melodies sound all too familiar already… hopefully his next album is not with atlantic records. I liked the old Lupe

I LOVE Lupe, but he sold out on this one. The record label just forced him to go mainstream for a more radio-friendly sound. So does that mean that most people hate the REAL rap? Now I'm going to cry.

lupe fiasco is the worlds best hip-hop/rap artist. again he gives us great music. if you like music buy this album, there is not one of his songs that i do not like. if you don't like lupe fiasco then there is something wrong with your taste.

This albulm is not really him talking to us. He's talking to the people who don't him so they will follow real music. That's why it sounds like radio songs. The real MEANiNG songs arent even made and they might never be. But we still gotta have hope. Hope that we can put our own words to our lives and our own words to the world....

It's a beast album!!!!

While Lupe remains one of the most influential rappers in the game, on this album he lets fans down with creating mostly mainstream tracks that would be of favor to the radio and that is not who I know him as an artist. He remains crafty with his word play but judging as an album, I would look at it as an attempt to fit in with the new era of mainstream rap.

I bought this because Lupe Fiasco was as performing at a pre-inauguration concert for Obama Sunday night in Washington DC, when his set was cut mid-way through by government agents following the use of negative lyrics directed toward the president. I support the first amendment and support artists who are not afraid to speak their mind.

It's an amazing album!!!!!! He talks only about the truth!!! Rap is coming is being reborn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look, Lupe has not changed. For all of you saying this does not compare to The Cool or Food & Liquor are absolutely being ridiculous. Music changes, live with it. If you call yourself a true fan of Lupe you will love this album. Letting Go, Never Forget You, and Beautiful Lasers are classic masterpieces from Lupe. If you honestly think the beats on those songs are "wack" then you should just kill yourself. The people that now dislike Lupe due to this album are not true fans, as their argument is without merit. Educate yourself before you say stupid things such as "Lupe has gone mainstream" because you all wanted him to be mainstream in the first place.

Disappointing. I love Lupe but this new album is far from his best work. His raps are great but the artists he works with and the sound is too mainstream. Love his first 2 albums, I hope he goes back to that.

I was expecting something raw and powerful after the near perfect album "The Cool". Unfortunately this album is not that. The lyrics are ok, not Lupe's best, but not bad. Not a huge fan of the overproduced sound or the autotune on most tracks. At least he makes a stand against political and social injustices in his lyrics, but the sound just isn't Lupe as we know!

This was an okay album but compared to the others it was no where near as good. I do not blame Lupe though, he little control over the album unlike the others. Lupe himself said in an interview he does not like this album and I don't blame him. Most of the songs are completely different to the songs on his other albums. The only good songs on this album to me are Words I never said, All black everything, Letting go and Till I get there.

the hooks are generic and the sound is very overproduced. not worth the hype

Not nearly as good as his old stuff, too overproduced, sounds like all the other generic hip-hop-pop around. Sounds a bit like BoB but not the same. A few tracks are good, but not nearly enough. Get back to the standard set by Food and Liquor and The Cool Lupe!!

His first two albums were sublime but this is over produced and conventional. There are a couple of stand out tracks and his lyrical talents carry most of the songs but its well below the bar set by The Cool and Food and Liquor.

There is no avoiding the fact that the production on this album is a little heavy handed, but the magic that is Lupe's artistry (along with his many talented collaborators) shines through despite it all. A definite pick for fans of alternative music of any genre. Four stars.

I am only writing a review because I am so mad about how rubbish this album is. I even refused to acknowledge its existence for months, but it did not go away. Waste of talent. Slow starts but lupe gets the message across anyone who doubted the autheticty of this lyrical genius obviously has never been where he came from thus is story telling at it's optimum listen listen to the words and soul he puts in coming from nothin and making it people who have been to where he is from race equality this album says it all stand up and be proud and prove the hatred wrong!!!

It's the same beastly Lupe lyrics but with more of a modern feel in the beats. So you can dance and think to this one. Worth the buy.

Lupe goes mainstream on most of these tracks which hurts a bit but the lyrical talent in these tracks is is great. The flow is good and solid production make up for a good album that will certainly top the charts everywhere. Overdid the editing in I Don't Wanna Care Right Now though.

from the moment that you heard the lupe's new single "show goes on" you new the album was going to be a smash hit. the music video for the show goes on is awesome and it really enhances the song.the vocals by people like skylar green and trey songz some of my favs are: "the show goes on", "letting go" and "The words i never said" a great album by a great musician

After only recently discovering Lupe Fiasco a few months back and buying his first two records, I hate to say that this one has been a big let down - apart from The Show Goes On and Words I Never Said, quality tracks a few and far between...

So many good songs in this album, I am so glad I pre-ordered this album. Words I never said and All Black evreything are my favourites. I seriously recommend you get this!
