- Time Warp

I wanna go back! Many memories of innocent childhood fun far from the world we live in now.

- If you grew up in the 70's this is a MUST-HAVE!

If you grew up in the 70's you have heard every song on this album played on the radio over and over again. It's a fabulous walk down memory lane, and a good way to remember how awesome the 70's music was. BUY IT, and play it OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER....

- Rest in Peace Dan Seals (March 09) -- Soft 70's Sounds

England Dan and John Ford Coley really take me back to a simpler time for music of this type. England Dan Seals is the younger brother of Jim Seals (Seals & Croft). After he and John Ford Coley disbanded, he later had a pretty successful country music carrer. He passed away in March of 2009 from a type of lymphoma. He will be sadly missed, but thankfully his music lives on in this great five song collection from Rhino. The duo actually had six hits worth noting. The one missing hit from this collection is called "Gone Too Far", which is also available here on iTunes.

- Taking me back to my youth!

These songs bring me back to when I was a teenager again! The soft, sweet, soulful sound of this duet is an excellent addition to my I-tunes collection. Add some Firefall and Bread and you have a great 'mix-tape'!

- "Love Is The Answer" - this is the correct version!

I agree...this is the correct version of the single that played on the radio. So if you are looking for "Love Is The Answer" buy it here. I can only guess that "single version" refers to the hit single that we all know and are familiar with. So don't think it means a shorter version.

- Trull a classic

Long gone are the days when music was music. No synthesizers, no pointless lyrics, just an era when a song told a story. I loved their music 30 years ago and had almost forgotten about it, and you know what? I still love it. The memories of a teenager are washing back into my mind. Thanks for the memories England Dan and JFC.

- Pretty Sweet

These guys are awesome and they made possibly the best love songs of all time

- Best of the Best

These HiFive mini-albums are great! Each contains the best of the best of my favorite artists! Thanks Rhino!

- Love Is The Answer

The Great Todd Rundgren wrote Love Is The Answer. This is a later version sung by England Dan And John Ford Coley. It's a great version of the song but Todd is the song writing master and you should get his versions of this wonderful song too. Todd Is God

- Classic

Wow! I love this album

- Rhino Hi-Five

great album

- Excellent 70s soft rock

This takes me back to those Mailbu nights of 1974 that I always wanted to live in but never did! Smooth and silky and super catchy music. Peak Yacht rock!

- Perfect

ITunes is fun.... you happen upon unexpected memories. Teared up with happy memories and just a general sensation of free spirit and no worries from my childhood. All great songs.

- To all the folks who wrote a review for this purchase

I'm glad you are all on here, it's freakin' cool dude.

- Single version

Fear not, I don't think you are being short-changed with the "single version". I'm not sure why they hang that terminology on there when the running time is the same as the album version (give or take 1 to 5 seconds), especially with "Love Is The Answer" (The listing I'm looking at from my copy of the "Best of" album says 4:42, actually). If there had been an album/longer version of any of these five songs, I would have remembered it. That's the kind of geek I am.

- Great!!

I love these guys

- England Dan & John Ford Coley

Like Auld Lange Synge and Think Of Me this is one of the seminal "Fish Out Of Water" love songs. Everey "Bad Boy","Slacker" and "Unforfilled Potential" guy has had a relationship with a woman who was just on a different track in life. These are our theme songs

- England?

I know "England" as Dan Seals. He was one of the last greats singing the country music I fell in love with growing up as kid. After the early 90's country music really changed for me. I still love the music but the meaning behind it seems to be gone. Anyway, I have been trying to find this song forever. The final addition to my Dan Seals collection!

- FINALLY:

Great to see these guys on iTunes. I'm sure there are all sorts of reasons why some artists are and some are not, but it can't be for lack of demand in this case. Bring more of their work if you can, please.

- Perfect music

Woke up with the melody “love is the answer” on my mind and searched for it on YouTube and found this music. Such wonderful music in a turbulent world. I wish everyone would listen to music like this. I really do. God bless everyone

- feel good music

IM 46 YEARS OLD AND THIS ALBUM TOOK ME BACK TO HAPPY TIMES WITH FAMILY WHEN I WAS KID. WHAT CLEAN MUSIC REAL INSTRUMENTS.

- 45 flashback!

One of those 70's pop groups, that had a distinctly country flavor, like; the Eagles and Firefall. Sweet harmonies, melodic sing-alongs, coated with enough sugar to make preteen girls swoon at the time, myself included.

- England Dan & John Ford Coley

A cross between Dan Fogelberg & Tim Weisberg and Seals & Croft, these guys rock in a popular melodramatic way. Their harmonization on "Nights Are Forever Without You" and "We'll Never Have to Say Goodbye Again," provide a goodwill combination of light listening with a feel good sensation.

- Great Album

Good as ever for these 2 gentlemen

- Time machine

This is great music. It takes me back to when I was a little kid. Loving then and now.

- These guys made Lawrence Welk look hip

These guys put the “soft” into soft rock. Their music is like they took some powdered sugar, mixed it with some granulated sugar and poured it into a bowl of brown sugar; added some high fructose corn syrup and ate it raw. My grandmother (who thought The Carpenters were too racey) thought England Dan and John Ford Cooly’s music was for “p******”. Still, it’s a guilty pleasure you'll enjoy.

- Too bad we only get the "single version"

I'm glad to see that England Dan & John Ford Coley have finally arrived in the iTunes music store. However, I notice my two favorite songs, "It's Sad to Belong..." and "Love Is the Answer" are specified as "Single Version." If longer versions of these songs exist, I hope the music store can somehow make them available in the future. I feel that we are being short-changed when this Hi-Five album only provides the "AM radio" versions.

- Enjoy!

Pure magic ! Purchase… press play … sit back and relax …. Enjoy !

- Superb Album

England Dan and John Ford Coley and their songs are teriffic and splendid as always. Even if a good portion of the songs are shorter radio single versions, at least the actual recording is there instead of an unperfect re-recording. I still find their tunes still perfect as listening the first time .

- These guys are great!

This group of talented people really brings out some great music of the 70s! It's really great music to add to your collection. If you want to get some great 70s music, this is a great place to start, especially for the price, and the fact that these guys are underrated. Truly a collection of great music that comes from the heart!

- the memorable 70,s

Man, this sound brings back so many memories and times as to where I have been, and the people in my life at that time. I miss the times and the people, and I cherish the music. Not just these guys, but the era.

- Great hair

What more needs to be said?

- Brings Back Memories

These songs really bring me back to the lazy summer days of the 70s when I would carry my transistor radio listening to AM radio on the bus on the way to Seal Beach !

- Wooosh!

Wow. These songs take me back to such a great chapter of my life. Thanks!

- Wow!

This is truly a "Guilty Pleasure". Gone are the days when a good song is just Amazing harmonies, straight to the heart lyrics and haunting melodies. Kudos guys! Thanks for the music!

- Excellent!

Just like everyone else has noted, brings me back to the 70's. I have all their LP's, but no longer have a working record player. I saw England Dan & John Ford Coley in concert at Murray State University in Western Kentucky just as they released their first album and they sounded fantastic. They even told everyone there what restaurant they were going to afterward and asked that everyone join them. One of the things I remember is that Dan played the guitar left-handed, but must have learned to play with his brother's guitar who didn't allow him to change the strings for a left handed player. So, he played all the chords upside down, which had to be challenging to learn.

- Great music

I loved all of these songs back in the seventies. Now it's so easy to listen to them any time I want. What a great nostalgia trip!

- LOVE THEM!

I LOVE England Dan and John Ford Coley! They should definitely be included in any 70's CD compilation. They are one of the most underrated groups of that era. They and Firefall should definitely be given their due honors since their sound all but DEFINED 70's music! Hearing their music brings back so many memories! Life was so much simpler then and the music was just so much better-I would love to see them and many other 70's artists honored in the hall of fame one day!
