Although there are some amazing pieces of trance music not in this collection by these artists, this collection is definitely comprehensive and done extremely well. As an intro to trance and to some of the artists on this album, this is an essential buy. For those trance aficionados out there, some of the tracks may seem to be not the strongest tracks, but overall, this is a great and solid collection and a great way to discover artists you hadn't heard of before. No one can argue about the value for money on this one,.
There were a bunch a classic remixed trance anthems. The feeling was somehow lost. Maybe cause I have already listened to most of it from other sets.

Amazing job. ASOT 500 is the best sensation party series and songs ever. Making a special album for the 500 is the greatest thing that it could happen

While there are a few good tracks in these mixes, most of them are not what I would expect from ASOT. All the mixes were pretty disappointing, having heard mixes from all these artists before; I think most of this was caused by track selection. If you like slow-moving trance that sounds fit for a coffee lounge, then this might be right up your alley. I'd recommend simply buying the tracks you like, and not paying for the majority of not-so-great tracks here.
One of the best dance/trance artists there is and Armin Van Buuren out does himself again-along with the help of Paul and Cosmic. Perfectly combined and hypnotizing tracks put even the hardest of us clubbers into a state of trance. The album is well worth the buy expanding well over 60 songs plus the contiunous remixs revive the dancer within you. Armin, what will you think of next?

When I told my wife. . . .remember how much cash I dropped on the vinyl back in the day? I got over half of the original tracks back for the price of nothing. . . LOL she told me that is insane. . .no more waiting and searching stores for music. EPIC tunes from the past 10 years if you know anything from the scene you will be happy, all unmixed tracks for mixing. . . .THANK YOU . .

The continuous mixes from the masters are worth the purchase in themselves. I rated at least 20 of the songs 4 stars or higher...And honestly, there's probably more good ones--I just haven't gotten around to ranking the others.
It's better then I expected judging by the previews here and this track list really don't do the entire compilation any justice at all it's still missing some of the more important sets like w&w and these are not recreations of the individual sets but still is amazing sounding and mixed very well as we have cone to expect from armin and the rest. My only gripes are that alot of the songs I have doubles of or have already purchased on other albums throughout the years of buying asot. But these are different remixes and that the live asot500 sets are not here wish I could get those as well cuz they were all so epic but this albums great definitely get if ur an asot fan or are missing alot of the series this is pretty much a one stop hit shop that has everything almost from every asot album ever and then some plus stuff from the universal religion series as well so deff a great bargain here as well. I'm 3rd review to lol almost was 1st but my download took forever an I had to delete a gig and a half or more to make space for it. I recommend this to any trance fan it's got ten years of music in one masterpiece. Plur everyone and please armin make ur podcast the full 2 hour show like everyone else on iTunes instead of that silly 20 min highlight with way too much talking and request 2 please upload at least most of the sets from asot 500 like Miami and den Bosch I think were best so far request 3 please headline electric daisy carnival in Orlando fl. I already have my tickets and would love to see u there. <3
I follow ASOT like a lost puppy. It is my drug. This album is great if you haven't heard any good trance before, but its just a bunch of old songs. Hardly ANY new material. NOT WORTH BUYING if you already have any other ASOT albums.

A very nice and complete compilation! You'll have cool surprise such as Bedrock heaven scent (Digweed and Sasha). A must have for trance DJ!
This is not trance at all listen to tiesto's Magik Two album which was released in 1998 and you'll see how that's better.
The hour long mixes are awesome! I've been looking for something like this for a long time.
What a great album I bought this and listened to it non-stop over and over for over two weeks now. Great selection of tracks, great variety, beautifull vocals, old school trance vibes, new upbeat tracks. I am stunned at the quality of this release and how much I could get out of it. If you want to a real journey through trance that is filled with emotion and energy this is it.
Superb mix and choice of tracks. Although I had most of these, having them all in one compilation is a complete delight! Close your eyes and you'll be on the dance floor of your dreams.
Ok songs. the best ones are Arisen, Man on the Run and Helsinki Scorchin.
