Absolutely amazing album! Extremely happy about their comeback and with an album like this it makes it better
need more gorillaz in my life
Not the Gorillaz I've loved and followed. I am a long time fan and own the entire catalogue, singles, rare editions, videos. But this is weak sauce and lacking any magic of the early narrative albums
Best album yet, worth every dollar spent.
This is just pure garbage coming from the gorillaz. Go back and try again plz thanks.
I love gorillaz and this album is one of their best
❤️❤️❤️❤️😭😭👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Humanz is the album 2017 needed, after this was released I knew that 2017 would be a great year for music. Listening to this album, it sounds like Gorillaz's older music with a modern twist. I cannot choose a favorite off this record, although I will say that my favorite deluxe track is Out of Body. Can't wait to see what new videos they put out, and I most certainly can't wait to see them live in concert in September :)
I loved the gorillaz since I seen Clint Eastwood on MTV music video. I got most if not all of their albums. This album has several good songs in it. But it doesn’t seem to be gorillaz to me. I just see an album with only a few songs with 2-D/Albarn in it. The rest is all (featuring so and so) and it’s mostly guest vocalists. It made me turn the album off and listen to all their old records where when there’s a feature, it’s only a verse or chorus. This feature is the whole song without hearing anything but the music of gorillaz. And I miss that. I miss the 19-2000 type experience. The experimental whimsical vision of the gorillaz that makes you think about them and their artsy crazy adventures. I’d hope to see them go back to their self titled album roots and get away from all these features. Some songs are good. But I don’t feel like I’m listening to gorillaz without hearing Albarns voice. I was a little disappointed in my purchase. Tbh.
Based on the reviews to date, it appears this release is quite polarizing for Gorillaz fans. Having only pressed play one time, and listening all the way through without skipping, I must disagree with most of the antagonists' opinions. While the first third of the album may be a slight deviation from the sound all true fans have enjoyed since the early days, it most certainly is not dull or conforming to the current status quo of today's style of music. It's creative, not all that different, and an enjoyable beginning and contribution to the album's overall feel. Introducing and featuring new artists is what makes Gorillaz great--fantastic live as I will always remember from Phoenix 2010. As for the last two-thirds of the album, it progressively returns to the sound we all know and love as distinctively Gorillaz. Focus on that, and enjoy what has been too long in the making.
I was a little skeptical at first but overall I love this album save for about 2 songs but I really liked it after listening to it a couple of times.
I couldn't wait for this to come. Thank god I did not preorder this. This is what artist do when they can't think of anything original, they just put a bunch of other artists that that have no right to be on the album in the first place. They need to go back to their own style and just forget this album ever happened.
Kind of hard to wrap my head around the fact so many people think this is the best Gorillaz album yet. Think of almost any band and their first album is almost always their best. 1998 Gorillaz was pure, made in an apartment, with a last minute addition of Del. 1st album will always be the best, don't spoil your fond memories with this.
If waited 7 for a pop album. Also 2Ds voice half of the time is like it's coming from a walkie-talkie.
While this is not the best gorillaz has ever produced (in my opinion), it is still an extremely amazing album filled with a whole new sound we’ve never really heard from them before. There are, however, a few songs that are kind of reminiscent of their older songs. Now, for those who are saying that “This doesn’t sound like gorillaz >:(“, what do you expect? They change their sound every album. their debut, Gorillaz, sounds nothing like Demon Days, which sounds nothing like Plastic Beach. I think it was wise of them to change the way that their music sounds, as it encourages exploring different musical styles and it gives their music diversity so that we’re not given the same sound every album. With that said, Humanz is one of my favorite gorillaz albums (although their debut will forever and always be my favorite) and is definitely worth a good listen.
I'm sick of all these people saying how this album was not reflective of the old Gorillaz. But, what they do no understand is that they never had a real Gorillaz "sound". I get how some do not like the new electronic/dance theme, and it's all opinions. Some people only listened to the Gorillaz for their rock and hip-hop songs, but now Gorillaz are trying to stay relevant and catch the ears of the new generation to the older ones who grew up to their music; trying to get people who's change of taste in music to listen too. This album is refreshing and really nice to listen to. To say that it's not like the old Gorillaz is just wrong because they really never had a real true Gorillaz sound (Except for maybe 2-D's voice).
Have been a fan of Gorillaz for the longest time. They're my favorite band of all time. So when they announced a new album coming, I was excited as hell. They did not disappoint. Gorillaz return with a bang!! This album is amazing. Recommend it to Gorillaz fans. Also recommend it to anyone who's interested in listening. Almost every song is spectacular. Some, not so much. Most complain that there isn't enough 2-D (lead singer of Gorillaz). However, that's not a problem because of the amazing artists they collaborate with. Nevertheless, an awesome album.
I love that every song is unique in it's own way
Took me long enough
Don't get me wrong, this album is really great. But it would have been a little bit better if there were songs JUST BY the Gorillaz, without any other artists being involved in them. Instead, we get 10+ songs with 1 or 2 featured artists in each song, and the only song that was made just by Gorillaz in this album is Busted And Blue. Overall a great album, just too many featured artists
Thank you, Gorillaz! Andromeda + busted and blue is awesome!
I didn't really enjoy this album at first, but after a second listen, I really started to enjoy it. It has some really good great songs, but other songs which aren't so good. Luckily, the ones I liked are common and are usually really good. If you've only listened to this once and didn't really like it, try again and you'll like it a bit more.
I think this album has lost the quirky weird vibe they were know for. Still some good songs, we got the power is clearly the worse.
This album has a few boring songs featuring artists who aren't the greatest put it has still managed to be pretty great!
I feel that Damon and Jamie are not trying their hardest to make this the best album. What i'm trying to say is that it needs more love and respect from the two. They're acting as if it was a chore to make this album. If it had more love and respect it would be better than it is. The music is great btw.
Your music moves me, riding the waves of life along with you. Just a troubled and forsaken soul saying thank you. For everything you made me make it through feeling ok, 5 stars for you.
Even if you listen to their old songs you can tell none of them are exactly the same kind of music! This change makes them interesting and non boring. I love listening to their music more than just artists like Adele who just have sad love songs
I really don't like how they have to feature so many bad artists. Just about every song featuers someone and they are mainly crappy rappers. Definitely not as good as their old stuff.
Surprised Damon Albarn still has it and didn't sell out. Good stuff!
Gorillaz is one of my very favorite bands and so of course i bought humanz. The album is ok, but i had hoped for more than that after so long. There are a few songs in this album that really piqued my interest but for the most part it felt less like Gorillaz changing their sound as they always do, but rather streamlining it. There was nothing here on the level of dare, stylo, fire coming out of the monkey's head. It isn't a bad album. But not as good as i had hoped for. I personally don't really mind a lot of featured artists, given that its not new for gorillaz to bring in artists (mostly rappers). But even that felt different. The rap felt too club and dance mix for me. I'd hoped for something rough and slow like stylo, november comes today, or clint eastwood. It might just be part of the band growing that they pick different artists to keep up a more professional sound but it really is a sharp tonal change from just about the only thing sthat connected the other albums. All albums had rappers that went well with the gorillaz sound, and also the gorillaz had at least some direct influence in the songs.
Very funky vibes. i can't dig it great sound with great beats 🔥🔥
It's a huge step away from creative, it's soft with nothing Innovative to offer you as a "Gorillaz" fan. Album is pure noise without purpose.
This album felt dumbed down compared to all of the other Gorillaz projects. Instead of letting the message of the album coincide with the music, the message is thrown in front like a PSA. I felt like this the most obvious on the song 'We Got The Power'. I felt like Mos Def or Del could've been on 'Ascension' instead of Vince Staples, or at least not have Vince do the hook. Pusha T should be on future projects, his wordplay and cleverness fit perfectly with a Gorillaz project. It was still a decent album. Ticker Tape was my favorite of the album.
Gorillaz will always be amazing!!!
This album does have some really good songs but just doesn't feel like Gorillaz again not bad but should have been great
It's different but they just adjusted to the time. I think it's amazing how after all those years between phase 3 to 4 they didn't forget how to rock the hell out of us.
It's been a few months since the release of this album and it's still good! It's definitely not like any of their original albums but it's still a good album. So what if it doesn't have everything people hoped for but in my opinion it's Gorillaz thing to make every album different. So go ahead and buy this album it's still great I promise.
So frustrated. It's just awful. What happened? Is there even any singles on this?! Haven't found a remotely catchy tune.
The album makes a political statement that's for sure, but the album (as a whole) is almost not-listenable. I hate saying this, being such a gorillaz fan, but purchasing the whole album is a waste of hard-earned money. After several listens I have deleted it from my itunes, it's that bad.
I was super stoked for this album and needless to say it was a huge disappointment. Modern day music is such trash and this follows suit. Where did my Gorillaz go?!
I feel like there's a song for everybody on this track. It's so great how Gorillaz such great music
The things I don't like about this album is that you don't hear the main singer that often and you only get other artists and the music doesn't really sound like Gorillaz. Even a friend of mine thought it was a bad idea for him to buy the album because after listening to it, he only liked two songs. I believe that the creator didn't put enough heart into it. It probably would have been better if he put it in as his own album instead of a Gorillaz album but he probably either did this for money or for experimentation. If he wants to experiment, he should release them as singles but not as the Gorillaz because it wouldn't fit their style that well and he needs to sing more instead of making other artist do the rest of the work. I know he did a lot of hard work to make the music but I bet it wouldn't hurt to sing more.
I remember when Gorillaz songs sounded nothing alike and each song was unique and different, but now if I put two of the newer songs side by side they sound extremely alike. Almost all of the songs on this album use the same synth, beat, or rhythm, it’s not really not that original and its extremely mainstream, unlike the original Gorillaz. Damon Albarn has become lazy, if you take his vocals off of most songs you probably won’t even realize he’s gone. It used to be a healthy mix of Damon and the collaborators, but now it’s almost all collaborators with Damon spouting off nonsense in the background.
First off don't listen to the "This isn't what gorillaz is" reviews, listen to their first album and then demon days you would still ask yourself "Wait these are they same people?" Personally my favourite is plastic beach and always will be but this beauty arrived I was so happy and I was not disappointed! It's got a very special vibe to it, very catchy music and just something that isn't heard everyday, just what Gorillaz should be :3 And to all the "Not enough 2D" peeps, the albums called Humanz for a reason.
Just my opinion but this album try's to be too modern the only song I find my self listening to and enjoying is Saturn Barz. I mean if the gorillaz split up again for a few more years this could hold everyone over. I do hate to be the " I miss the old gorillaz " guy but I do miss the old gorillaz.
The tracks will grow on you! You are not a true fan if you don't try and just listen to the songs. Also remember Plastic Beach? It had electronic sounds and tons of featured artists. All great bands will have to change their sound (like, U2, The Beatles, Coldplay, The Rolling Stones, ETC) and its Gorillaz turn now. But this definitely one of the best come back albums of 2017.
I used to not like it, but now I do!!
In all honesty, I seriously love this album. Even if it isn't their best (Only 2nd to Plastic Beach), it's still an amazing album for our Gorillaz comeback. Songs like Let Me Out (My new personal favorite song, somehow beating Rhinestone Eyes), Saturnz Barz (Some sort of Electronic version of Clint Eastwood), and Momentz (De La Soul's ultimate comeback with Gorillaz), this album is truly worth a listen, even if other songs like Sex Murder Party (A very sloppy try at making a song, even for Gorillaz) and Hallelujah Money (Not a terrible song, but still not amazing) aren't all to great. This album is great, and I highly recommend it to all Gorillaz fans, new and old.
This is the first full album I've purchased on Itunes and I absolutely love every song on it! Sure it's different from their old stuff, but If you stop trying to compare it to the music the Gorillaz used to make you can appreciate the music for what it is
Best ever favorite is Saturn barz
This is just beautiful!! I absolutely loved every single one of these songs!!! Thank You!
It's different from what they usually do, but it's amazing! Some of the songs in the album lacked a bit for me, but non the less this is Gorillaz. Totally worth my money..

I can't even wait, not gonna hype myself up too much....but I Actully can't wait. My fav song rn is andromeda it's really good, anyone that's new too the gorillaz should really listen to that first ;3 Edit: well I'm listening to it now AND ITS LIT , I love it so much all the songs are different or bring something new ! I recommend this 100%
Quite disappointed in the full album, I love andromeda, the apprentice and a few more of the early singles but the whole album has nothing on demon dayz! I don't like the collaborations, I just want gorillaz back! Not all these other artists with them.
Some people may find this album political but I find demon days a tiny bit more political but the thing is no one actually minds there might be some people that hate it for that exact reason but the fans (Us) love it and all ways will. Well done and welcome back guys.
Love the vibe
Just mental. In a good way. Jumps all over the place and held together just with Gorillaz in an elevator between song.
Finally it's out. The new album with so many bloody awesome tracks from my favourite band of all time. It's great to hear some new content after some long years. After downloading the album with every song, I just listened to the album for 3 hours straight. Best time of my life.
Only heard the singles but it's gonna be amazing cuz it's gorillaz ... duh
This new album will be one of their best, no doubt. 4 new singles in one day; all amazing!
Some great tracks, others not so great. Interludes are meh but overall great
The first four singles off this album are okay at best! Wasn't quite expecting these kind of songs after the long awaited comeback! It will be interesting to see what the rest of the album sounds like....
Great album.. love all the supporting artists that they've got on it.. each one brings something amazing and unique to the album..
If you thought Demon Dayz and Plastic Beach smashed it then Humanz looks to be the best album they have done to date. The first four songs released just smash anything they have done before right out of them all park. LOVE IT!
Sick album, 'nuff said
This album is a little bit disappointing. The new hip hop artists to join the Gorillaz this time around are misplaced and get very repetitive and often annoying and there are not enough Damon/2D vocals which is what's missing from this album. It's certainly no Demon Days or Plastic Beach. The lack of guitars, piano and especially the melodica is so noticeable. If you liked 'the fall' where it was made entirely on an iPad you'll probably love this as the drums etc are all very similar on each track. That being said there are a couple of decent tracks but no stand out hits.
Been waiting for what feels like an eternity for this album. I can happily say that I have not been disappointed and I think that goes for a lot of people. I was sceptical at first with the release of hallelujah money as well as the four songs that came out on YouTube but I grew to love the the songs. The same goes for the album as a whole, listening to the songs at first made me unsure and I won't lie I had a feeling of disappointment at first but, again, found myself loving the songs the album has to offer. Every song has its own feel and atmosphere to it, making it far more interesting than any conventional album. Gorillaz have always been good at this and reflect this fantastically in this album. Love this album and hope that everyone else does too! Thanks Gorillaz ✊️
B U Y I T
Great moods
WORTH THE LONG WAIT
GET THIS ALBUM
So glad they're back with another greatly anticipated album, and without disappointment so far!! Been a Gorillaz fan for a while now (since Demon Days first dropped I think). I have really enjoyed listening to their new and old music over the years as it's so diverse, unique and doesn't fit into any one particular genre! Can't wait to see the journey that awaits Murdoch, 2D, Noodle and Russel in this album!!
I have a lot of love for this album. Some are complaining there is 'too much rap' or it is 'too hip hop'- this album is undeniably Gorillaz, in my opinion. It is incredible, tying in so many different artists and covering a plethora of genres in one amazing album. It's certainly more of a throwback to original Gorillaz if you were to define its sound, as opposed to the more alternative techno sounds of Plastic Beach. As a fan who has waited years for this album, I'm certainly not disappointed. Damon has done well to maintain the original Gorillaz vibe whilst also managing to keep the music modern and contemporary enough to appeal to people who may not be as familiar with Gorillaz as I and many other fans are. Perfect in every way.
The Gorillaz are a totally unique and unusual group - people saying that the new ablum has nothing on Feel Good inc., Dirty Harry etc etc don't understand that Damon Albarn never wants to create the same genre more than once - this album is amazing; it's in a totally new direction which is why it is so good. The collaborators are awesome as well and the rest of the album will be amazing no doubt. Have faith!
How could they ever be doubted? Gorillaz are proving themselves as one of the best for unique style and great collabs. The evolution of this band is brilliant, can't wait for the whole thing. Fantastic!
Really disappointed to hear this after waiting x amount of years. There seems to be literally no effort made in crafting any of the songs, nor do any of the celebrity guest appearances enhance, - or even salvage, - Albarn's efforts here (especially Grace Jones who I'd have thought was a sure thing). I'm normally in awe of Damon but the whole thing seems to have been assembled quickly for Johnny Pleb to pogo around some sticky inner-city dancefloor.
Mint 👏👏👏👏👏
After a 7 year break, expectations were high..but if the rest of the album is anything like the four songs released so far, I have no doubt that my favourite band in the world will not fail to astound me, once again. Thank you Gorillaz!!
Andromeda is so good.
Seeming good so far! Love We've Got The Power.
As a long time fan of Gorillaz I was expecting something big, but was left disappointed. I only like eight of the 26 tracks. Wish I hadnt bought the entire album :/
Gorillaz are back and the timing is perfect. Their latest album showcases what a benefit their break has been in order to present a refined sound with an expansive amalgam of featured current and experienced artists across a multitude of genres. The Deluxe album houses 26 tracks, with musical interludes in-between which could rival that even the most niche artists in the alternative/hip-hop category. This far exceeds anything Kanye, Kendrick or even Drake has done with collaborative effort. There’s plenty for everyone to enjoy, the collaborations may feel over-stocked but they are in no way lacking in cohesive sound, production and lyrical freshness. If you’re looking for similarities between ‘Plastic Beach’ and ‘Demon Days’ - you’re unlikely to find that, the bar was set pretty high with those albums but this is no way inferior. This album feels more like an album of passions - these are the artists Gorillaz wanted to work with. There’s a lot of standout tracks of which are just so perfectly arranged.
thank u @ damon albarn you are a god you've blessed us all with ghjs album and came back and saved music and jamie hewlett ur art is so beautiful and the band art is well designed, yall have me shook and I am not ready for this.
Outstanding, again totally different from other Gorillaz albums.....or any other albums out there.... thank you !
I pre download it and now it's making me pay for the music I already bought
Amazing sound.. hats off.
Never expected anything less what an amazing album totally worth it whether your an old fan of the Gorillaz or a new one.
It's been 7 years since the last major album and it's been worth it. The current songs are really good and I can't wait to hear more.
They have done it again, its back to their roots and ambient moody sounds, fantastic, I can't wait for more tracks to be released
Sorry this is nowhere near as good as earlier releases - maybe they need to try a different approach
